Our Story
1940s Cuba was a time of political unrest. The people wanted more, so they made more. Art, food, and drink flourished at the pinnacle of Cuban culture. Grand hotels and restaurants showcased brass and golden doors, merchants sold woven wooden baskets, elegant chandeliers and sconces lined the streets. Vendors peddled watermelon ice, green plantains fried and dusted with sugar, and a myriad of pork and chicken snacks slow cooked and served on delicious breads.
